Norway Arts Festival Winners!

Western Maine Art Group announces the prize winners of the 2015 Norway Arts Festival.  This year’s cash prizes totaled $2000.

Best in Show–An acrylic painting by Bradley Jackson.  Mr. Jackson is a wildlife painter, originally from Allagash, Maine.

First prize in Painting –  A work in pastel by Barbara Traficonte.  Ms. Traficonte is a painter and teacher who is member of the Pastel Painters of Maine.

Second prize in Painting – An oil painting by Michael Everett.  Mr. Everett enjoys finding and painting the more remote areas of Maine.

First prize in Photography – A digital photograph by Steve Traficonte.  Mr. Traficonte is a fine art landscape photographer.

Second prize in Photography – A film-based photograph by Rex Holsapple.  Mr. Holsapple is a traditional film-based black-and-white photographer.

First prize in Artisan/Sculpture – A sculpture collaboration by Judy Mayberry and Don Best.  Mr. Best is a wood carver and Ms. Mayberry does glass mosaic.

Second prize in Artisan/Sculpture – A sculpture in metal by Heather McLeod.  Ms. McLeod is an “upcycle and repurpose artist” who often finds whimsy in her subjects.

At the Student Art Show at the Matolcsy Art Center, Lynda Chihocki and Rachel Conder were award prizes for Best Student Art.
