Linda R. Isham
Graphite, charcoal, acrylic ink, watercolor, and mixed media
I’ve come back to drawing and painting in my retirement – initially for my own pleasure. I find that drawing and painting help me see in new ways, allow me to express myself, and share with others what is meaningful to me. I try in my art to honor the call of beauty and to find it in unexpected places. I often focus on the natural world, especially trees.
In my retirement I’ve taken drawing classes at Manchester Community College, Manchester, CT and participated in numerous drawing and painting workshops. During the summer I’m part of a plein air group while in Maine.
I’ve shown my work in several places including Manchester Community College, Matolsky Art Center, West Hartford Art league (CT), McLaughlin Garden, Artistic Endeavors and Mill Hill Inn (both in Bethel, ME), now at Main Street Gallery in Norway, and have been juried into several shows. One of my charcoal drawings is in the permanent collection of Manchester Community College.
