For me, art has been a presence in my life. I recognized a desire to draw or paint or carve or shape long ago. However, I did not always follow that desire. Life has a way of redirecting us if we allow it. I would take the occasional art class or do a special painting for a friend but I wouldn’t say I was pursuing a career in art.
I am at a point in my life where I am adjusting my priorities and I am attempting to allow myself time to create art. It is a slow process for me but I am thrilled to be moving in that direction. I am partial to oil painting but have worked in pastel, acrylic, watercolor and pen and ink. I also do a little carving and pyrography in wood and turn wood and acrylic pens on a lathe.
Guy’s work can be seen at the Main Street Gallery in Norway.
