This month’s artist is Julieanne Reed from our Gallery. With rich pastel pigments on large canvases, Julieanne paints animals and magical beings. Her models are the birds and animals that dwell in her surroundings and just out of view. Her focus is much on the in-between times–the light as the day begins and ends, capturing moments of serious play in a world where messengers come in all forms, many of them winged.
She draws on dreamtime to see what is often hiding in plain sight. Our gallery is open from Tuesday-through Saturday, and Sundays in December, from 10 AM to 4 PM. For more information, art classes, demonstrations, to find out more about Julieanne Reed and special trips sponsored by us, please visit www.westernmaineartgroup.org, Facebook and Main Street Gallery. The gallery is free and open to the public.
