Welcome!

The Western Maine Art Group (WMAG) was founded in 1962 by Hungarian fine arts Professor Lajos Matolcsy (1905-1982) of the Royal Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts and two of his students -- Lee Bean and Ellie Viles, both artists of western Maine.

For decades the WMAG has served to elevate artists of all ages and representation through exhibition, teaching and learning, and community collaborative events like the Norway Arts Festival. It continues to endure the tests of time relying on the vision, spirit and of passionate volunteer board members and member volunteers.

WMAG events are open to the public. The group also provides membership for artists to exhibit, network, teach learn, and sell their work.
